CA – The Valhalla Renaissance Faire
November 17, 2008
The Valhalla Renaissance Faire in South Lake Tahoe, CA is one of the year’s most looked forward to Faire in Northern California. Spanning two weekends and set in one of the most beautiful settings anywhere, it’s become a staple for the last decade and a half.
Photos from the 2008 event can be found below:

CA – The Golden Gate Renaissance Faire
November 17, 2008
Renaissance Productions celebrated their 6th annual Golden Gate Renaissance Faire in San Francisco’s own Golden Gate Park in mid August. The date adjustment to their regular end-of-August calendar sure didn’t seem to slow down the fun or the crowds. While it was one of the chilliest and foggiest faires there yet to date, the 8,000+ attendees didn’t seem to mind in the least. More photos keep rolling in all the time for this perennial favorite.
For all the times that harsh sun and shadows from trees mess up photos, this one’s idea since with the heavy fog, it’s rather like having fill light coming in from all directions.
Without further delay, here’s the photos:

CA – Willits Scottish Renaissance Faire
November 17, 2008
Rusty Sword Productions had another great time at the end of July with their 3rd Willits Renaissance Faire (the 10th annual if you count the original 7 year run which ended in 2001).
The several thousand attendees over the weekend had a great time and here’s some new galleries to prove it.

Perry Louie has been taking photos at faires for well over a decade all over the West Coast. During the height of the http://www.loopedatfaire.com/ days he had been one of their most prolific contributors. A die-hard Canon user, has been of the early adopters of the NorCalRenFaire Canon Club and spearheading new inductees to the gang.
When not captaining the gun line of the Guild of Santa Maria, or acting as the site manager for Renaissance Productions, you will almost certainly find him taking photos somewhere around the shire. You can find his main photo home on the web here on Flickr.
CA – St. Andrew’s Guild Winter’s Feast
November 16, 2008
Each Winter, the California guild of St. Andrews (the Scottish Court) holds it’s annual Winter’s Feast. This year was it’s first time to be held in Livermore, and whle it’s acoustics for the speeches left a bit to be desired, it was spacious and comfortable for the attendees, and the band that played during the evening (Cluann’s Hounds) was a blast.

CA – The Folsom Renaissance Faire
November 16, 2008
The Folsom Renaissance Faire returned over the 3rd weekend of October for it’s 16th season, and as the first season produced by Renaissance Productions. It’s longtime legacy of the best faire to end the NorCal season with continued with some of it’s highest attendence numbers in recent years even while combating the currently turbulant economy.

CA – Shasta Scottish Renaissance Faire
November 16, 2008
The first weekend of October brought the 2nd annual Shasta Dragonwood Scottish Renaissance Faire back to the Andrson River Park in Northern California. Renaissance Production’s great run of good weather faires was finally broken with a wet and rainy weekend putting a dampner on everything but people’s moods and spirits. Thanks to Tartanic rocking out throughout the day the dampness was largely forgotten and a great time had by all.

CA – Kearney Renaissance Faire
November 16, 2008
Early November brought the return of the Kearney Park Renaissance Faire to a new home at Sycamore Island Park in Madera. A nice start to Saturday became damp towards the end of the day and then a slow and soggy Sunday brought the Northern California Faire Season to a close.
Here’s some of the galleries for this year’s faire:
